What is the CAANZ/AUT Communications School?
Recognising the need for the development of a prestigious, professional and practical industry-training programme, the Executive Board of CAANZ announced a partnership with the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in early 2005 to deliver a high-quality education programme for communications professionals.
CAANZ/AUT Communications School offers professional development opportunities across communications disciplines such as account strategy and management; media planning, management and strategy; selling creative; digital marketing; business management; and presentation and negotiation skills – all delivered by respected local and international industry practitioners or academic professionals.
The CAANZ/AUT Communications School programme has been based on the highly successful IPA (Britain) and AFA (Australia) education models. These programmes are an essential component for the vibrant and prosperous communications industries in those countries, as they are in New Zealand.
The Communications School programme has been developed as a result of extensive industry feedback and can succeed only with the support of the industry. It needs commitment from managers who set aside budget to train their people and support from those in the industry who are willing to pass on their experience to others coming up through the ranks.
We are calling on all industry players to lend their support to this extremely important education programme: after all the CAANZ/AUT Communications School has been developed to serve your needs.
